I have 20 years of experience working with children, adults, people who have experienced anxiety, depression, trauma and difficulty in relationships. I have a wide variety of experience in psychology and treatment modalities such as CBT, trauma, and DBT.
Past work has included being part of a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) team teaching DBT tools, skills and conducting individual and family DBT therapy. DBT focuses on creating a life worth living, putting aside self-destructive thoughts and practicing new ways of thinking and doing.
I especially enjoy working with teens/young adults who are looking to find their place in the world. Much of my work has focused on reaching for better thoughts, learning better ways of coping, and can include mindfulness, guided imagery, and concrete skills. My number one skill is compassion. I do not judge and I know that judgment is not effective. I accept you for who you are in this moment at the same time knowing growth and resolution of old pain are possible for you.
